There is little more rewarding than presenting
at a Annual NACADA conference. Not only do I benefit from the research
and work of putting together the presentation, but I also enjoy
the experience of passing that information along and learn tremendous
amounts from the conference participants who attend my session.
It's a great feeling to know that the work that you do is appreciated
and the information that you present is valued and valuable. I highly
recommend presenting to everyone that I meet - present alone, present
on a panel, - just get out there and share your ideas!

Presenting at the Annual Conference
has allowed me to share my knowledge and research with others but
more importantly has given me the opportunity to learn from a wide
range of individuals. First year advisors, advising administrators,
experienced advisors, and faculty advisors all have something to
share and bringing them together at individual sessions has allowed
me to expand on my ability to serve students and “borrow” from others. The bottom line is that advising is a very challenging and rewarding profession and one that is always a work in progress.
Blane Harding
Colorado State University
I began presenting at NACADA conferences
because I love learning from other presenters. I realized that others
might be excited to hear about some of the new things we have been
trying on our campus as well. It has been very rewarding to have
peers in my profession express their appreciation for giving them
new tools/ideas to take back to their campus. A major component
of advising is sharing knowledge... whether it's with our students
or with each other!"

My favorite thing about San Antonio is the Alamo. Being a native Texan, the “cradle of Texas liberty” sums up the spirit and fortitude that is what makes Texas unique! The camaraderie those men felt against insurmountable odds is truly remarkable and brings tears to my eyes every time I visit the site. It is well worth the visit!

Growing up in Houston, I remember many family vacations, camps and drill team competitions in San Antonio. Now, I love to visit the Riverwalk where you can enjoy a cold margarita and some great Mexican food!

San Antonio is great city; almost 300 years old, it has been home to Native Americans, Spaniards, Mexicans, and various US Immigrants. San Antonio has turned into a great vacation spot, there is something for everyone; with the drama of the Alamo, Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Paseo del Rio (Riverwalk.), the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, the Witte Museum and the Institute of Texas Cultures are all right here.
Take advantage of this opportunity and come to San Antonio for a fantastic NACADA Annual Conference.Jo Anne and our gang are preparing a fiesta for you in September.
So amigas y amigos we will see you then. |

Welcome to San Antonio for the NACADA Annual Conference. I am a NACADA Junkie and am excited for you to join us in San Antonio. There is something here for everyone outside of the conference activities. Meet new people and make new memories as you network with fellow NACADA Members. Sleep, eat, shop, play and explore in a place where the relationship of person to place is quiet, yet profound. I look forward to meeting new attendees and reconnecting with those I've meet before. Join us as we provide you with Academic Advising: Deep in the Heart of Student Success from Deep in the Heart of Texas. Ya'll come join us in San Antonio!

This is a chance of a lifetime to catch up with colleagues and connect with new ones as you experience the culture and wonderful weather of San Antonio, Texas. You'll want to connect and experience the Irish, Mexican, Australian, English or Asian cuisine that's available on the famous Riverwalk or take a trip on the river barge for a history and architecture lesson. San Antonio the place you'll want to call home....or at least remember the margarita(s). Viva San Antonio! |

Chair
Hi Everyone! Welcome to Texas and to San Antonio! I know you'll fall in love with this beautiful place during your stay here. I encourage you to find a few friends and venture out to explore the Riverwalk, enjoy the beautiful weather, and sip a margarita or two.
I live just up the road in Austin, another fabulous city, but I grew up outside of Houston, near the Johnson Space Center. Hence, the statue choice. As it happens, I was also born when the men were walking on the moon so I have an affinity for all things lunar.
As the volunteer chair I'll be working on making sure that all the little details of your experience are taken care of to ensure an enjoyable and educational conference. Make it a great one!

I love walking around the gardens behind the Alamo and just sitting on a bench there enjoying the flowers, the scenery, and the sun. There is just a special feeling in the Alamo grounds (even to a non-Texan like me) that you need to take the time to experience sometime while you are here!

As a native Texan, I think San Antonio is a city that represents the best of
Texas--the state's natural beauty, its brave and diverse citizens and their
love of good food and a great party! I so enjoy the history of the Alamo,
and I love the food and music along the riverwalk. But most of all San
Antonio is home to my loved ones--Ben, Brooke, and my soon-to-be-born
grandbaby!
