Platform Statement:
I want to provide the support and advice that commission and
interest group chairs need to build successful organizations for
their constituents. My experience as a commission chair
gives me the knowledge of what commission chairs and interest
group chairs need to know and how to keep them informed so they
can feel confident about doing the job they have been elected
to do. I served on the transitional task force and helped
shape the organizational structure for commissions and interest
groups. I serve now on the Commission and Interest Group
Division steering committee and have a goal to make sure that
we have a person to serve as a resource for each chair in the
division, to help them understand their duties and to make their
work part of a collaborative effort. I do not want any commission
or interest group chair to feel alone and abandoned. I will
continue to work with the structures we have just recently put
into place to serve the chairs in the division and to represent
their needs to the Board of Directors.
