Active in NACADA for the past 14 years,
I serve as a member of the Board of Directors and the steering committee
of the NACADA Technology in Advising Commission. I have been the
Regional Representative for the Great Lakes Region, participated
in the NACADA Leadership mentoring program and have been a member
of the Awards Committee. I have written several articles on technology
for ATECH and the NACADA Clearinghouse, and have presented numerous
sessions on various topics at both national and regional NACADA
conferences. I recently became a member of the Summer Institute
Advisory Board and a Summer Institute faculty member.
Goals:
- Encourage the association to provide
more readily accessible professional development opportunities
at the local level through the use of webcasts, teleconferences,
drive-in workshops and other means.
- Encourage member input in the decision-making
process through the use of list serves, survey instruments, and
contacts with the NACADA Council and Board of Directors.
- Support diversity within NACADA in all
its permutations.
- Support and enhance the initiatives
already begun to build NACADA into the association of first choice
for all those with advising duties or an interest in academic
advising.
