Platform Statement:

If selected by my peers to represent them as Chair of the NACADA Advising Student Athletes Commission, my primary goal would be the following:

  • Continue the important dialogue between NACADA and N4A, especially pertaining to NCAA academic standards. Recent attempts to unify our voices serve a critically important need. The nature of our discipline and the world of the student-athlete are impacted by every academic change handed down by the NCAA. We should-we must-organize our efforts.

While I believe the NCAA has the best interest of students at heart when instituting legislation, the voices of those who work on the front lines with student-athletes should be heard to ensure NCAA policies in practice do indeed contribute to the educational well-being of student-athletes. The membership and administration of both organizations speak more powerfully when their voices are united in this effort. As a member of both NACADA and N4A, I am in a position to maintain and advance communication between the organizations. Moreover, I am both willing and able to work toward this important goal.

Thank you in advance for your support.
