Statement:
I have been involved
in higher education since 1982. I have served in the Enrollment
Management area at Friends University, Wichita State University,
and Tabor College. At Tabor, as Vice President for Enrollment
Management, I became involved as a Freshman advisor. This has
led me into my current position as Director of On-Site Advising
for Butler Community College-Andover Campus.
I became involved in
developing academic programs for returning adults while at Tabor.
At Butler of Andover, a very significant portion of our students
are adult learners. I enjoy the diversity of adult students and
the challenges/opportunities they represent. In addition I want
to encourage greater participation from private colleges who work
with adult learners. Within Kansas during my time as chair of
KAAN, for the first time we invited a panel of private school
advisors to present at our annual conference.
I returned from NACADA
this year with an extensive list of ideas that can be implemented
here at Butler. As I can learn from others, I trust that I can
also provide a perspective to help others in their position at
their institution.
