Platform Statement:
My interest in being
the South Central Region 7 Chair stems from my need to give back
to the organization that has given me so much. My participation
at the conferences (both as a presenter and an attendee) as well
as participation on the Steering Committee have been so fulfilling
that I want to give back to NACADA with my service. Our region
is very fortunate to be made up of such wonderful states that
have such strong state organizations. We have a vast resource
that I will work on uniting. I will encourage participation from
our members in our state conferences. I would work to expand publicity
and participation, so that everyone in the region is aware of
the wonderful things going on in surrounding states.
Communication and participation
in our region is one of our biggest hurdles due to our large size.
I will work hard to try to bring unity to Region 7 by encouraging
increased membership to ensure that no institution or advisor
is left out. NACADA has a lot to offer our states including website
maintenance and list serve information. I will work to make sure
that every state and advisor knows the resources available to
them.
