Statement:
- Highlight
your involvement in this unit that will help you in leading this
unit. What roles have you played in this unit thus far?
I
have been an active and supportive member of the Engineering &
Science Commission since its early days of being an interest group.
I also served for 2 years on the steering committee.
- What
do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives for
this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
The
mission will continue to align with the goals and strategies of
NACADA. Continued improved communication, empowerment, encouragement
will be the cornerstones in expansion of presentations at the
local and national levels. Resources will be expanded for use
by the members. Membership will be inclusive for all areas as
identified in the commission mission with full time advisors as
well as with faculty advisors.
-
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position
or what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
Past
experience in the commission will be the key in providing a collaborive
leadership role with the talents of a steering committee. We will
continue to identify and address critical issues for advising
in the areas of engineering, physical science, math, computer
science and technology.
- Provide
any additional comments or information regarding your past experiences
and qualifications that relate to your candidacy for this leadership
position.
Leadership
roles held locally and statewide have given me experience in working
with advisors and advising situations. Being a catalyst to solidify
our identity will move the young commission to the next level
of professionalism within NACADA.
It would be an honor to serve in this capacity for NACADA and
for this commission.
