I have served on the Finance Committee for two years. As a member of the Finance Committee, we are tasked with the oversight of expenditures and liabilities of NACADA as a whole.
What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives
for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
I believe that fiscal responsibility is important for NACADA. I believe in having a reserve for unforeseen circumstances that may happen within a
national organization, but I also believe in making sure that we are doing everything possible for the success of our membership.
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or
what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
I bring budgeting experience to the table and an outlook that will help NACADA be fiscally responsible. I am not in advising anymore but it is where I started my higher education work experience. I am now a lobbyist in Alabama working on budgets everyday. I understand the role of an advisor and I understand the importance of budgeting, therefore, I believe that I can be a valuable resource to make sure that NACADA will be financially sound for years to come.
