Statement:
Highlight
your previous involvement within this unit that will help
you in leading this unit. What roles have you played within
this particular unit as a member thus far? |
Have participated regularly on commission listserv, participated in commission meetings at annual conference for the past 7 years, and served as session proposal reader for annual conference.
What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives
for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
While there are several issues that are important to this commission, two stand out. First, there is the continuing need to encourage networking among commission members. We have many common experiences, and we share many of the same frustrations. Being able to effectively and easily communicate can provide support and professional growth. Second, this commission is critical in providing awareness of the issues and needs of smaller institutions, both within the organization, and within higher education as a whole. It is critical that the commission represent those needs and concerns and find ways for those to be addressed.
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or
what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
I am willing to take on this role to assure that the good work for/with this commission that has been done over the past decade continues.
Provide any additional comments or information (either
personal or leadership-related) that you want potential voters to know about you that is not covered
elsewhere in your platform information.
