I am new to this unit; but, I am very well organized, responsible, and have a passion for advising and improving students educational experiences.
What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives
for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
I respectfully hope that I can help provide a forum for open sharing of ideas and concerns. It is imperative for NACADA members to be able to share information as to help individuals grow both individually and professionally. I have many skills, abilities, and resources that will help this commission in a positive and productive manner. Some of these skills include great communication, programming, organizational and leadership skills, as well as, web site design and other computer related abilities.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve, and sharing my computer, web design, leadership and other skills with NACADA.
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or
what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
I have always believed that one must become involved to make changes or to help keep things that are working going. I enjoy challenges and know that my skills and abilities will benefit this position. I am eager to take on those challenges with a positive and respective outlook.

- Attended 2009 Region 9 Conference.
- Attended 2008, 2007 Region 10 Conferences.
- Served as a volunteer at as many conferences both locally, regionally, and nationally as possible.

- Current member: Advising Administration Commission, Technology in Advising Commission, Advising Transfer Students Commission, Advising Education Majors Commission

- University of Nevada, Las Vegas activities:
- 2009 - Serving as the Associate Chair of the UNLV Academic Advising Council -- help prepare informational resources and guide conversations to help improve our Advising Professionals.
- Working on Advising Web site to help students understand the role that advising has on their educational goals.
- 2008-Present. Member, Non-Traditional Student Commission
- Helped design and build the web site representing these students.
- Help with our Non-Traditional Student Rebel Ready Guide, which gives students quick access to campus resources and information specifically geared towards the Non-Traditional Student.
- Serve as "New Student Orientation and Welcome" task force leader. Are in the process of building our 3rd Annual Non-Traditional Student Orientation. Have built a great base of information for students to access in one evening, and present information through a Student Panel, workshops and tables for different campus services. It is a very productive
and valuable resource for our students.
- Member, Utah State Advisory Board, 2005-2008 -- this board was responsible for student recruitment and retention. Helped build a program to help transfer students with their admissions process by having them complete transfer agreements, which included a built-in scholarship application.
- Attended 2009 NACADA Annual Conference, San Antonio, TX.
