Advisory Board's Charge

The Webinar Advisory Board's role is to develop and coordinate a process for submission, recruitment, review, and selection of topics for webinar programs, to develop the annual webinar series topics and recommend presenters for webinars, to review participant evaluations on a regular basis and make recommendations for changes or improvements in the process or the delivery, and to oversee or facilitate the content review for specific webinars when needed.

Goals (2007-2008):

  • Develop a specific mission statement for Webinars.
  • Encourage Management Team to reduce live broadcast schedule back to 5 events for the 2008-09 season – live broadcasts topics should have broad appeal.
  • Support creation of additional CDs or DVDs (this may be a good place to make the transition to DVD to allow for more complex content) of more focused material, in smaller slices (30-45 minute segments), that would be distributed on disk only and that could sell for less than live events (i.e. pricing similar to the Foundations CD series).
  • Support continued development of Pocket Guides when content lends itself to such.
  • Work on more specifically identifying target audiences and market accordingly.
  • Continuously be researching future trends. Recent research that suggests we are “moving toward the sunset of this medium.”  We need to be prepared to move forward, particularly with more interactive media.
