New Professional Advisor Development Practices

Exemplary Practice Application

Thank you for your interest in New Advisor Exemplary Practices. Exemplary Practices have been chosen. Find information about these programs in the monograph The New Advisor Guidebook: Mastering the Art of Academic Advising Through the First Year & Beyond

Apply for possible inclusion as an Exemplary Practice in the upcoming New Professional Advisor monograph. The monograph will focus on the initial and extended development of professionals whose primary responsibilities are academic advising and who are new to the profession.

Please submit a three page narrative addressing the issues listed in the Narrative Guide below. The Primer will provide a self-management plan for new advisors as well as guidelines for creating a first-year advisor development program; therefore supporting documents (no more than 20 pages of materials used in your program) should be included where indicated.
