Assistant/Associate Professor
Educational Enhancement Department

Position Description
American University of Antigua, AUA, is seeking two Assistant/Associate Professors for the Educational Enhancement Department (EED). The EED provides academic support for our students and faculty in the School of Medicine and Pre-Med Program.

Duties
The EED is part of the AUA Student Affairs Office. EED faculty members report to the Chair of Educational Enhancement and work with students individually or in small groups to promote their cognitive development; to increase learning skills; and their ability to pass required medical licensing exams. EED faculty are required to teach at least one educational enhancement class per semester. The EED faculty also work with medical education faculty to provide professional development opportunities for enhancing teaching. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of medicine and medical care within the US while living and working at our basic sciences campus on the Caribbean island of Antigua earning a competitive potentially tax exempt income.

This position requires a one-year commitment with a renewable contract and has a targeted start date of August 2012.

Required Qualifications
1. B.A. in Education or related field with a focus or teaching experience in the Basic Sciences
2. Master's in Education Psychology, Student Affairs or related field
3. 2 + years of experience in a similar position with a preference for experience working with medical students
