Regional Division Goals
2005
Goal:
Further Strengthen Regional Governance Structure
Objective
1: Discuss the following topics with current and incoming
Region Chairs.
- Set goals and Objectives for your region
with your steering committee.
- Think creatively about introducing new
and innovative ways about professional development even outside
the purview of regional conferences.
- Make a conscious effort to attract new
members from within the region to NACADA.
- Utilize Divisional Representatives for
support in bringing members to regional and national conferences.
Objective
2: How to maintain effective communication within the
Division.
- Share information through scheduled
teleconferences.
- Important events, announcements can
be shared through electronic list serves.
- Encourage regions to utilize update
features on the website.
- Promote use of region website by members
as an important soure of information.
- Share new ideas with Divisional Representatives
to determine relevance to strategic plan.
Remember:
Divisional Representatives are there to assist you in making your
region stronger.
Goal:
Evaluate each region's activities every two years
Objective
1: Each Region Chair will submit the goals and objectives
for their region for the following year by November 15 of the previous
year.
Objective
2: Each Region Chair will submit the Regional budget for
the following year by November 15 of the previous year.
Objective
3: Region Chairs will meet with the Division Chairs every
other year to review the progress being made in each region concerning
governance structure, budgeting and programming based on the goals
and objectives established the previous year. This meeting will
take place at the National Conference and will include the outgoing
and incoming chairs form each region. Regions with odd numbers will
be reviewed during odd years and regions with even numbers will
be reviewed in even years.
2004
Goal: Strengthen regional governance structure.
Objective
1: Training on the following topics will be held for current
and future geographic representatives before the 2003 national
conference (format to be determined):

Regional
budget development
-
Conference
budget development
-
How
to organize and run a professional development conference
-
Setting
goals and objectives for your region
Objective
2: Division Chairs will work with geographic representatives
individually throughout the year to help strengthen the governance
structure through feedback, technical assistance and open lines
of communication.
Objective
3: The Executive Office will provide assistance to regions
via standardized reporting forms and updates concerning what technical
assistance is available for the office (i.e. Web site development,
teleconferencing capabilities, etc.)
Goal:
Evaluate each region's activities every two years.
Objective
1: The Division Chairs, with help from Diane Matteson, will
design a review protocol for the regions by January 1, 2003 .
Objective
2: Each geographic representative will submit the goals and
objectives for their region for the following year by November
1 of the previous year.
Objective
3: Geographic representatives will meet with the Division
Chairs every other year to review the progress being made in each
region concerning governance structure, budgeting and programming
based on the goals and objectives established the previous year.
Objective
4: With assistance from Executive Office Division Chairs will
review region budgets every two years on a rotating basis.
Goal:
Establish operating guidelines for Regional Division
Objective
1: The Division Chairs will work with Geographic Chairs to
establish operating procedures for the division
Objective
2: Establish a consistent reporting format for all regions
that allows for flexibility due to uniqueness of each geographic
region.
