NACADA Webcasts

Webcasts

What is a Webcast?

A Webcast (also known as a "web conference," or a "virtual seminar") is a live event presented over the Internet.  NACADA Webcasts include our Webinar presentations and group-oriented Workinars

NACADA's Webcasts are 60-90 minute, focused events concerning topics of importance to academic advisors and advising administrators. All broadcasts begin at 1PM Central Time to enable viewers in all North American time zones to participate within the framework of the general workday schedule.

All NACADA Webinar Presenters and Workinar Facilitators are currently actively involved in academic advising on their campuses.

Webcasts may be viewed by individuals on their desktop/laptop computers or by groups in conference room settings using computer projection technology.  No travel required!

Note: NACADA does NOT generally use streaming-video in our Webcasts, because a high percentage of our viewers do not have sufficient bandwidth to receive it.  Visual materials consist of "still shots" only unless indicated otherwise in event publicity materials.

The advisors at Tulane are really getting a lot out of these Webinars! They are a great resource! -- Patrick D. Godbey, Academic Advisor, Tulane University

We have found the Webinar format ideal for our staff!  We are a small college professional advising staff with a limited budget and feel we have gotten so much from the webinars with all of us sitting in my office. We have wholeheartedly embraced the “Advising as Teaching” concept and found this to be an excellent way to gain information so that we have been able to more quickly incorporate it into our office philosophy and now take the next step with our faculty advisors. -- Beth Miller, Director of Academic Advisement, Saint Joseph College

My institution signed up and hosted the Webinar for a variety of campus stake holders and we were thoroughly impressed with the content and delivery. This a great option for those of us that may not have the financial resources to send a number of people to National or Regional conferences. - Natasha Buis, Lethbridge Community College

The webinar options for professional development are great and I appreciate the opportunity it offers us as advisors to attend such events together! - Jane Larsen, North Island College, Comox Valley Campus

Thank you all for putting this series together; it has really rejuvenated my campus and been a great kick-off to improvement initiatives we are implementing. -- DaNay Phelps, University Academic Advising, Academic Affairs Office of the Provost, Texas Tech University
