Maxine Coffey, Associate Director

Maxine Coffey joined the NACADA Executive Office and Kansas State University in January 2008 as Associate Director for Administration.

As Associate Director, Maxine works closely with the Executive Director to implement NACADA's Strategic Plan in order to meet the needs of the membership and to advance the Association. Primary responsibilities include ensuring appropriate levels of administrative support for Association programs and initiatives, membership services, marketing and promotion, finance and accounting, and general oversight of Executive Office function.

Maxine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication from Kansas State University. Prior to coming to the Executive Office and Kansas State University, Maxine was the executive director of the Riley County United Way and held leadership positions on several state and regional boards of directors. She served in various capacities within the telecommunications industry, most recently as a senior manager for public affairs, and previously served as an editor and reporter at a daily newspaper.

NACADA promotes and supports quality academic advising in institutions of higher education to enhance the educational development of students. NACADA provides a forum for discussion, debate, and the exchange of ideas pertaining to academic advising through numerous activities and publications. NACADA also serves as an advocate for effective academic advising by providing a Consulting and Speaker Service and funding for Research related to academic advising.
