As a Summer Institute
participant, you are given the opportunity to prepare and present
(in your discussion group) anACTION PLANfor solving an
advising challenge on your campus. The scope of the action plan
is left up to you. The scope may be as narrow as devising a new
form or as broad as proposing a new model for delivery of advising
on your campus or recommending the use of new technology. You will
receive assistance with this project by attending relevant sessions,
group discussions, and group & individual consultations with
institute facilitators who have expertise in the area you have chosen.

Academic Advising Program (AAP) | Our action plan is to develop an Academic Advising Program
(AAP) at Rowan University. AAP will include short- and long-term
goals to strengthen advising campus wide. Short-term goals will

Advising, and begin an Advisor Development Program. Long-term
goals include the creation of a Center for Excellence in Academic

Towards a New Academic Advising Model for First Year Students | Using the resources from NACADA's workshops and topical sessions
in SI as well as office reports (annual, institutional effectiveness,
and dept review report) engage in discussion with staff and

team, and will take into consideration the culture of the institution,
