As a Summer Institute
participant, you are given the opportunity to prepare and present
(in your discussion group) anACTION PLANfor solving an
advising challenge on your campus. The scope of the action plan
is left up to you. The scope may be as narrow as devising a new
form or as broad as proposing a new model for delivery of advising
on your campus or recommending the use of new technology. You will
receive assistance with this project by attending relevant sessions,
group discussions, and group & individual consultations with
institute facilitators who have expertise in the area you have chosen.

advising hours and including specifics related to dg. plans,
and basic info, all through a hyper link or web link on Card.
A Welcome back event will be held early in semester; and specific

Project Success | Improving student retention by focusing in on students that
are on probation, and are at risk of losing financial aid. Mandated
workshop series will be required for students who are at risk
of losing aid. All probation students will be formally invited

Early Intervention Plan | The Early Intervention Plan is designed to target students
who receive early academic warnings and connect them with resources
that help improve their grades. This may be accomplished through
cell phone calls, email, Facebook messages, required advising
meetings, goal-setting workshops, tutoring, better designed
individual student plans, and assessment of the progress. We
would like to have this improved by Fall '07 and have shown
improvement by Spring '08. The proof of improvement will be
