Position Description

Development and implementation of academic advising strategies, systems, processes, learning experiences and networks that support achievement of desired academic and career outcomes, including the overall student experience. Assists No Major Selected students in successfully integrating into the institution's environment and thriving personally and academically.

Duties

Provide developmental advising, support for major exploration advising, and programs to meet the specific needs of the following student populations: first-year and continuing undergraduate students who are undecided (No Major Selected), pre-majors, students seeking alternative majors; students who have been academically excluded from competitive majors; and/or students who are on academic warning/probation or who have are academically ineligible from the University. Provide general education academic advising and registration assistance to a caseload of students served by The A Center Provide supplemental program planning and support for The A Center Work collaboratively with The A Center team to provide quality programs and participate with new student orientation and on-boarding for freshman Teach courses and facilitate related workshops and presentations Proficiency with University of Arizona Student Information System (UAccess).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
Up to 1 year of relevant work experience required
Experience working with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Higher Education, Teaching, Counseling or related field.
Demonstrated successful experience working with post-secondary students.
Two or more years of demonstrated and successful experience in teaching freshman level courses at a two-year college or four-year undergraduate college/university.
2 years of experience working with student development and higher education.
Proficiency with University of Arizona Student Information System (UAccess).
Experience working with post-secondary students.
Experience in teaching freshman level courses at a two-year college or four-year undergraduate college/university.
