Position Description

Clark University’s School of Professional Studies seeks to fill the position of Academic Advisor. Reporting to the Associate Dean of School of Professional Studies, the successful candidate will provide high level quality academic support to the assigned student population (undergrad and grad) and will work collaboratively with the Office of the Registrar, Admissions, and the School of Professional Studies (SPS) academic/administrative staff to ensure all student issues and concerns are addressed. The primary responsibility for this position is to provide quality direct services to students. Other responsibilities are related to and integral in developing and continuously improving to enhance student satisfaction, student persistence, retention and ultimately the whole student experience.


• Supports and advises students with academic planning and navigation that help students successfully achieve their educational goals.
• Monitors student academic progress.
• Executes the Early Detection process each semester including monitoring students at risk.
• Serves as a liaison with faculty and other parties to address student concerns/issues.
• Develops a robust support network and resources for student success.
• Creates and implements support services and programs to students.
• Evaluates and monitors the needs of the assigned student population.
