Advises new and continuing students on admissions processes, testing degree options, transfer partnerships, campus resources, financial aid, and career planning. Guides students through academic planning and goal setting. Maintains current knowledge of current MCCCD policies and procedures. May participate in presentations to students and work with students online, over the phone and in person. May perform other duties as assigned. 75% Provides academic and career advisement and other related enrollment services to new and continuing students while providing thorough documentation of each advisement interaction; Maintains effective time management in order to serve a large volume of students; provides information and maintains current knowledge on transfer options, academic programs, class registration, pathway programs, general financial aid requirements and processes, graduation requirements, academic policies, career exploration and refers students to appropriate campus services; provides unofficial transcript evaluations; Participate in group advising and presentations to students and staff.
15% Actively participates in professional development in order to maintain current knowledge of relevant policies and implement best practices with advisement in order to assist in student support and retention; Collaborates with cross-college stakeholders.
