An Academic Advisor manages a case load of students with a goal of providing comprehensive support for their academic performance, goals and timely completion of their degree. This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering advising student services for the Master of Science in Administration program. Primary activities include: Advising incoming and current students, recruiting new students, international student support services, alumni relations activities, assisting in assessment activities, and other tasks as assigned.

Two years of higher education experience working directly with students. Knowledge of college student development and research on retention and persistence
Ability to professionally represent the university to diverse constituencies. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build rapport and project a positive attitude. Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of current and best practices related to college student retention, academic success coaching, and academic advising. Working knowledge of computer applications. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
