Position Description

The College of Science is seeking driven and highly personable individuals to join the Academic Advising team. We are hiring five new Academic Advisors to serve as essential guides for students embarking on and continuing their education in the College of Science at the University of Nevada, Reno. Academic Advisors work with incoming freshmen, continuing students, and new transfer students to assist them in completing their bachelor’s degree. Advisors are expected to be empathetic, flexible, and patient resources for the students in our college. In addition, ideal advisors must be willing to build a strong knowledge base that students will tap into to remain on track in their college career. We welcome applicants who are willing to learn new skills and systems; who will build a strong network across campus; and who are committed to realizing a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community. The College of Science boasts some of the most ambitious, diverse, and high-performing students at UNR. We are looking for applicants eager to make foundational contributions to these students’ achievements at UNR and beyond.
