The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Academic Advisor for the College of Business. This position is responsible for providing academic advising to prospective, new, transfer, and continuing undergraduate business students in individual and group advising settings regarding schedule, choice of major, number of hours to be taken. Other duties include, but are not limited to: participating in recruitment events and retention activities; being involved in the collection and evaluation of data for reporting; addressing and managing students’ concerns and needs for the completion of their degree program; assisting the coordinator with planning, preparation and participation in off campus student recruitment activities; auditing, reviewing, and submitting corrections to admissions and records to ensure accuracy; participating in assigned special projects, training opportunities; and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director, Advising, Recruitment and Retention for College of Business
- Approve the student's academic program of study
- Provide accurate and consistent information
- Clarify institutional and program requirements, policies and procedures -Assist students in identifying appropriate institutional resources
- Facilitate relationships between the student and other individuals on campus who may provide assistance
- Uphold the academic standards of the institution
