Position Description

Academic advisors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences report to LAS Student Academic Services and advise students in assigned departments. Current openings exist in the Communications Unit.


Providing professional academic advising services to current or potential students and their families related to programs of study, career exploration, class registration, academic standing, campus engagement, and student success Contributing to program leadership by identifying unique college and departmental partnerships that support pre-professional student retention Engaging in program support by facilitating orientation course, selecting and training peer mentors, and executing community building and exploration focused events and acting as an advocate and referral agent by connecting students with campus resources and high impact practices.
