This is primarily an academic advisor position. The individual hired may teach up to 2 courses per semester during the academic year, depending on advising loads and expertise. Academic Advisors in the NKU College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biological Sciences advise students in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and Neuroscience majors. In addition, participation in orientation and recruiting events, advising luncheons, and NKU Master Advisor training is required. A commitment to work effectively with diverse student populations and first generation students is required. Candidates should expect to work in a fast-paced environment; learn and communicate continually changing and detailed information and maintain accurate, up-to-date student records for a large caseload. This position requires collaboration with advisors, faculty, and success partners on campus to create a welcoming and supportive network for students.
