Classification Summary: Provides academic advisement for prospective, current, and former students within a specified undergraduate academic department or equivalent unit of a college. Assesses academic level, attends to student inquiries, assists in problem resolution, and advises on program changes, and in the development of academic plans and schedules. Analyzes applications, transfer evaluations, and transcripts for entry and exit from the university. Maintains appropriate records. May establish programs for target recruitment and retention and develop program and marketing materials.
Provides specialized academic advising for prospective, current, transfer, dual credit and early college high school students within DACC’s service area. Also provides general academic advising for regularly admitted college students. Analyzes applications, test scores and transcripts for entry or exit to the college and assists students to develop academic schedules within the context of a career pathway. Coordinates academic advising sessions and analyzes degree audits to certify degrees for early college and dual credit students. Participates in campus-wide retention and student success initiatives including early alert interventions, enrollment calling campaigns, and early performance grade outreach. Participates in college committees and new student orientations as assigned by supervisor.
