Position Description

Neumann University is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full time Academic Advisor position within the Academic Advising Center. Academic Advisors in the Center work primarily with first year and transfer students engaging them in the process of creating and executing their personal educational experience. Advisors also teach INT 101: The Neumann Experience course to incoming first-year students. This distinctive freshman experience seminar serves to assist students with their transition to college in general, and to Neumann University specifically.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

bachelor’s degree and previous advising or counseling experience required. We seek candidates with previous experience working constructively and proactively with a college-aged population; strong commitment to ensuring academic success for first generation and transfer students; congruence with the Catholic Franciscan mission of the University; excellent communication, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills; strong database and software skills and; the ability to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education preferred;
