Supporting the holistic academic experience of a student requires effective planning and coordination – between the advisor and student, the student and faculty, the advisor and faculty, and the advisor and the university at-large. This position helps guide Industrial Engineering (IE) students through the IE program in a manner that best meets their needs while satisfying the IE curriculum requirements and their overall professional and personal development.
Duties will include:
advising current students, and meeting with prospective students and families; guide student in developing a plan of study that meets degree requirements; communicate and collaborate with other School advising staff, the College of Engineering, the Registrar, the Dean of Students and other University Offices, to maximize student access and success. Empower students to be active responsible learners and assist them in making well-informed decisions. This position also ensures that the department and students execute the appropriate policies and procedures to move the students through the process, and creation and maintenance of appropriate records. Developing knowledge of the IE undergraduate curriculum, broader engineering principles and concepts, the discipline of IE, and direction of the IE profession are key drivers of success in this position.
