Position Description

Purdue is currently seeking an Academic Advisor for undergraduate students in the Krannert School of Management.


Responsibilities include advising current students; guiding students in developing a plan of study that meets degree requirements; assisting with course selection, class scheduling, and co-curricular opportunities; communicating with students who are having academic difficulty, including those on academic probation and who have gone through the re-entry/readmission process; conducting audits on student's progress toward completion of their plan of study; communicating and working with the School of Management, the Registrar, the Dean of Students, and other University Offices to maximize student access and success.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in higher education or relevant field
One year of student advising, recruitment, or other student-facing experience
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, current and prospective students, parents, and families
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to problem solve and utilize campus resources for individuals and groups
Ability and willingness to work in a changing environment
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Student Services, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or field related to the majors advised
Knowledge of undergraduate student development and recruitment
Knowledge of programs and majors at Purdue University Knowledge of field related to majors advised
