Position Description

Assumes responsibility in assisting students with academic program planning and the selection of appropriate courses in the Faculty of Health Disciplines Bachelor of Nursing Programs. Finalises GRADES and works with MuchLearning for invigilated exams and special marking finalisation. Enters information into Banner for final record of course completion. The incumbent will ensure that all student queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner; assist students and prospective students with the interpretation of institutional requirements and regulations; interpret student profiles;provide assistance to students in drafting a program plan and maintain appropriate records


Responds to all student and prospective student program related queries regarding Bachelor of Nursing Programs.
Interprets institutional student assessment, analyzes information provided and advises on the selection of appropriate courses based on the student\s program requirements and other personal and professional commitments.
Reviews status of students on an annual basis and advises Supervisor of who are not meeting program requirements
Assists students in consultation with the Office of the Registrar and other departments, with the interpretation of institutional requirements, policies and regulations.
Refers students to appropriate University Department or faculty member as necessary.
Ability to maintain and manage along with co-workers email within a shared email and shared folder structure. Interprets student information in DegreeWorks
Responds to student queries/concerns regarding administrative matters and tracks the university's dealings until resolved.
Keeps the Supervisor apprised of significant issues escalating to the Supervisor as necessary.
Sets priorities and solves day to day problems ans supports other team members as required.
Represents the Faculty of Health Disciplines and liaises with other University Departments, external agencies and educational institutions on matters related to the Bachelor of Nursing Programs.
Maintain the integrity and consistency of procedures to be brought to the Supervisor and finalized by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

An undergraduate degree and 2 years post-secondary education work experience in an Advising capacity. Equivalent education and experience or a combination may be considered.
