The Assistant Dean for Tutoring and Academic Support supports holistic student success and inclusive excellence by serving as the director of peer-to-peer support, tutoring, and academic support services. Working collaboratively with the faculty directors of speaking and writing and department chairs, this position will provide cohesive academic learning support services across all academic divisions. This position will be responsible for facilitating peer tutoring services including course-specific, individual, and drop-in tutoring, as well as peer-to-peer support programs including but not limited to the NaviGator Peer Success Coaching Program, and study partners for international and multilingual learning students. In addition, this position will teach courses related to academic skill development and tutor/peer leader training. This position will gather, maintain, and analyze peer tutoring and peer-to-peer support data to enable evaluation of services, implementation of best practices, and maintenance of national certifications to elevate the College's recognition as best-in-class in providing peer academic support services. This position will maintain a sound budget through projection and allocation for tutoring needs within Student Success and by academic divisions to provide excellent peer academic support in the most efficient manner. To meet student needs where they are, this position will need to work some evenings and weekends.

Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience in a college level academic support center environment.
Qualifications preferred for the position include a Master's degree and five to seven years of experience in learning support services at a college or university. Previous experience as a dean or director in this area is preferred. The Assistant Dean for Tutoring and Academic Support will have a depth of knowledge and experience with student support programs, designing and implementing outreach initiatives, forecasting budgets and planning allocations, analyzing data for purposes of department assessment needs and fostering partnerships with faculty, staff, and students. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from different cultures. This position requires a high level of written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; ability to work effectively with faculty, students, alumni, college administrators, and study away providers; ability to work independently; and familiarity with recent and emerging trends in the field of learning support.
