This Position: Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Assistant Director of Graduate Programs for the School of Hotel Administration provides valued input and insight into programmatic discussions and strategic decisions for two distinct graduate fields of programmatic breadth. This role frequently partners with the Directors of Graduate Studies, the Associate Dean, and graduate faculty members to create and implement strategic initiatives as programs evolve, improve, and grow each year. This includes playing a leadership role in the development of new programs and initiatives, implementing innovative and effective program management, and facilitating changes in university systems, policies, and procedures in support of unique interdisciplinary graduate programs. This Assistant Director of Graduate Programs provides expertise, guidance, and judgment in decision-making and interpretation of policies and procedures for graduate programs to faculty, students, staff, and alumni as appropriate. They advise students on degree requirements, curriculum planning and oversee the review of student requests to revise or adjust curriculum with the Directors of Graduate Programs and graduate faculty. This position provides direction and operational administration of the Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) Program, the Baker Program in Real Estate, and the School’s MS, and Ph.D. programs. This includes all external communications, collaborating closely with the Admissions team, onboarding incoming students, determining appropriate student programming and events, overseeing program policy adherence and implementation, developing an annual slate of projects, assisting in professional development, and maintaining academic records. Lastly, the Assistant Director interacts closely with students as a key point of contact throughout their programs, assessing student development on an ongoing basis, identifying any need for extra-curricular initiatives to enhance their professional and personal development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 to 4 years experience in real estate, student services, career services, student counseling/development or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to interact with individuals in a professional, diplomatic, and courteous manner providing exceptional customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, time management, and oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks successfully, and use time efficiently to carry a project through to completion within established deadlines and budget.
• Demonstrated judgment, ability to take initiative and handle ongoing activities, and ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
• Strong team-player.
• Proficiency with computers, including database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a business, real estate, or related student services area with additional experience preferred.
