Job Summary/Basic Function: Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Student Success Center, the associate director will maintain the Hobsons' Starfish system and represent it as well as the department in public forums. The associate director will assist in the development, management, implementation, and assessment of the business processes of the Starfish system. The associate director will also delegate and supervise employees' assigned responsibilities within the Starfish system. Starfish is a technology tool that supports student success by facilitating communication and connection between faculty, students, advisors and support services. Starfish is a campus-wide platform that is leveraged to help students with a sense of belonging, provide guidance & support, promote engagement, and help students gain access to skills and knowledge through its three components: Early Alert, Connect, and Analytics. The associate director will also help resolve challenges regarding enrollment, retention, and persistence to graduation. This position provides high quality academic advisement to students pursuing an associate's degree in General Studies or a Certificate of Completion in General Education and serves as a mentor to new academic advisors in the Student Success Center.

Required Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree
• Five years full-time college employment experience in academic advisement, registration, admissions, financial aid, student services, enrollment services, administrative experience, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Early Alert and Analytics software
• Technical skills in the areas of Microsoft Office Suite; database management software, data utilization and visualization, with SIS and LMS system knowledge preferred.
• Strong verbal communication, written communication, listening, record keeping, and information management skills.
• Ability to retain knowledge concerning university and department policies, think critically and make appropriate judgment calls pertaining to the application and communication of university and department policies.
• Customer-service orientation, due to the importance of positive first impressions and positive subsequent contacts with diverse internal and external constituents.
• Ability and willingness to work with colleagues and supervisor to build a work schedule that complements the work schedules of peers to assure that sufficient advising coverage is available.
