Position Description

Siena College is accepting applications for the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Student Academic Support and Engagement.


Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice President will supervise directors of student academic support and experiential learning programs, including advising, programs that support at-risk students, academic standards review, tutoring, career development, first-year seminar, writing center, education opportunity programs, study abroad and international student support, undergraduate research, internships, community engagement, and the honors program. The Associate Vice President will foster collaboration among academic support and engagement offices to maximize services for all students, coordinating and assisting with retention efforts within Academic Affairs and all divisions of the College.

Required Qualifications

A Master's degree and significant experience with academic support and engagement programs are required for this position, including at least five years of supervising other personnel. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in student support, strong administrative and supervisory skills, experience managing complex budgets, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively across departments and disciplines, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to serving a diverse student body are also essential. A background screening will be required.

A doctorate is preferred.
