Position Description

Career Services Coordinator, Greenspun College of Urban Affairs [R0130567] The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Career Services Coordinator, Greenspun College of Urban Affairs [R0130567].

Duties

The candidate will be responsible for planning career events for College of Urban Affairs students in collaboration with key stakeholders, employers, and other campus departments. This includes marketing and outreach strategies on career services, resources, and College of Urban Affairs events and activities. In addition, duties will include assisting in the developing curriculum relevant to employers’ needs and workforce/marketplace trends.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years of related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, knowledge of career development approaches, and federal, state and local agency employment processes, as well as understanding of program development in an academic setting. In addition, the candidate should have leadership and customer care experience, particularly with diverse populations, as well as knowledge of graduate and professional skills admission process, and awareness of state and national labor market trends. The candidate must also understand the importance of stability, adaptability and non-linear career paths, as they relate to workforce development.
