Position Description

This position is responsible for student engagement through programs and services focused on student development, governance and service.


Recognized Student Organization Management (40%)
Work directly with student organization on annual recognition program that includes officer leadership training, organization constitution review, risk management education and other relevant requirements. Advance the administration of Canes Connect, GSW’s online organization management system. Provide administrative support to student organization and advisors.
Department Initiatives (30%)
Assists with development and implementation of new department initiatives focused on advancing student engagement and success. Plans and manages Thunder Camp, an extended orientation camp. Operation of all social media platforms. Serve as advisor to GSW Drop, SES student marketing team. Manages Canes Harvest, a campus food pantry.
University sponsored programs and events. (15%)
Assists with development and implementation of department’s leadership and service programming. Serve as point of contact in planning and partnering university sponsored events focused on student engagement. Advise student committees responsible for themed weeks. Partner with Athletics Department on building game day experience and student attendance.
Recognition Programs (10%)
Plan and implement student and student organization recognition programs that promote engagement, school pride, leadership, service, and other applicable priorities. Coordinate student awards banquet.   Assist colleagues with student recognition efforts.
Performs a variety of related duties. (5%)
May serve as investigator for student conduct or Title IX cases. Participates on University and division committees and task forces. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field with three to five years of work related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration or other related field with one to three years of experience, preferred.
