The Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is currently seeking a motivated and service-oriented team member for our Director, Academic Services (advising) position. This position necessitates expertise in managing, administering, directing, and supervising activities of student-centered advising and student services unit. The director position should have a “How can I help?” disposition and will continue to build and maintain a culture of service and collaboration on the team. This position reports to the Senior Director Recruitment & Student Success Services.
Directs a comprehensive, integrated student services advising program which includes retention, progression, standards, and scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Supervises directly and through subordinate supervisors, with a service excellence focus, all unit staff for areas which may include undergraduate and graduate advising and student academic success services, front-line operations, and advancement/progression review. Works collaboratively with leads for recruitment and student engagement. Implements proactive advising practices for immersion and online students. Regularly benchmarks service metrics and implements best practices, utilizing evidence based decision making. Oversees staffing, supervision and provides orientation and in-service training to staff. Formulates and oversees program, personnel, and fiscal policies and procedures. Develops short and long term goals, with measurable outcomes. In collaboration with stakeholders, establishes programmatic directions, strategic planning, developing policies/procedures, and making space allocations and budgetary resource decisions for the college. Plans and develops services to meet the needs of undergraduate and graduate students to include but not limited to student records, student profile reports, Salesforce, PeopleSoft, DARS, and more. Collaborates on information for college web site and marketing materials in relation to student services and designs the content of web-based advising tools. Collaborates with student engagement related to engagement opportunities for students; highlights programs and opportunities for student success Analyzes and interprets data related to student services, academic success, and retention. Serves as college representative on the Advising Administrators Board (AAB) Liaison between college student services and other institutions, including community colleges and high schools, focusing on articulation. Represents the college to university administrators, university program forums, other universities, community colleges, private and public organizations and the general public. Performs other administrative duties assigned by the Senior Director Recruitment & Student Success Services.

Master's degree in a related field AND six (6) years experience in one or more of the following: advising, recruitment/retention, other related student services in a college/university environment, which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Masters Degree completed. Experience in providing advising services for at least five (5) years. Experience in retention focused initiatives for at least three (3) years. Experience in technology, specifically Salesforce, DARS, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office suite Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills Experience supervising professional advising team members. Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Experience with implementing service-excellence focused initiatives.
