The SIUE School of Engineering seeks qualified applicants for the Director, Engineering Student Services. The Director will provide oversight for academic advising, enrollment management, retention, and on- and off-campus recruitment activities for all undergraduate students in the School of Engineering.
The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising academic advisors and their records management of approximately 1,500 students including monitoring routine procedures for academic planning and those for admission and graduation (transfer credit evaluation, graduation check, commencement eligibility, and probation and suspension procedures). The Director will have authority to modify office practices, procedures, and policies to ensure efficient and quality services to students, faculty, staff, and outside constituencies. This includes developing ongoing training programs for staff members and maintaining system for evaluating staff members. The Director shall also maintain data on inquiries, prospective students, admitted students, enrolled students, students on warning/probation, and inactive students to generate reports to the Dean and Associate Dean as needed. Additionally, the Director, Engineering Student Services will represent the School of Engineering on any internal school committees and any University-level committees assigned by the Dean or the Associate Dean. The Director will also participate in select recruitment activities such as meeting with prospective students/parents, admission counselors, high school and community college; participation in on campus events (SIUE Previews, Transfer Visit Days, Major Fairs, New Student Orientation, etc.) and off-campus events (High School and College Career Fairs, Student Organization events, etc.). This position also coordinates the Engineering Explore Day for the department. The professional responsibilities of this position may necessitate some evening hours and weekend hours. Further duties and responsibilities that support the School’s mission and goals may be assigned.
