The Director of Nursing Student Services, reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Nursing, has responsibility for high quality student advising, student recruitment and admissions and related student support services. The Director is responsible for student data management and reporting to support excellent outcomes of the college in the areas of recruitment, retention, graduation, employment, and national rankings. The Director oversees academic advising for the College of Nursing. The Director of Nursing Student Services will be responsible for achieving the following outcomes: Develop, implement and evaluate student services of the College of Nursing in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Develop and implement high impact student advising services for graduate and undergraduate students with responsibility for student support to achieve metrics that for outstanding progression, graduation, and employment rates across graduate and undergraduate programs. Lead the data management operations related to student affairs in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for student affairs and provides reports to national, state, accrediting, marketing, and other agencies. Develop and implement new and innovative programs and projects that support student recruitment, student retention, and professional leadership development of students. Directs, plans and provides academic advising and orientation. Oversees student preparation for graduation and licensure or certification in a collaborative approach with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Lead adherence with university policy in areas of academic advising, degree requirements, scheduling, admissions and student records. Collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs to plan and execute student events and student governance activities.
Designs and implements support services for student success and retention in all programs.
Directs and plans academic advising and orientation. Provides academic advising services in collaboration with the Student Affairs team to support all students in the college.
As delegated by the Assistant Dean, engages with the Texas A&M offices and services such as admissions, registrar and student affairs to ensure that students access support resources.
Collaborates to support and assure outstanding academic advising and student governance. Works in a team environment to offer nursing student events, including recognition ceremonies, welcome ceremonies, employer recruitment, and new student orientation.
Oversees student preparation for graduation and licensure or certification in a collaborative approach with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
Leads the data management and reporting functions of the Office of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
Works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, academic affairs leaders, and the other members of the student affairs team and committees to assure strong datadriven program outcomes and reporting.
Develops data reporting processes and outcomes for multiple agencies.
Provides reports to national, state, accrediting, marketing and other agencies. Collaborates with the faculty and the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs to increase the diversity of the student body and participates in university-wide diversity planning and implementation of diversity initiatives.
Collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to create a campus climate that is inclusive and promotes diversity in all of its various forms in student activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ten years of related experience in management with at least two years of leadership experience in student affairs in higher education program/college/or school.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to handle multiple critical issues simultaneously.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Other Requirements or Other Factors
Evening or weekend work may be required.
Graduate degree in higher education student services, higher education administration, nursing, or related field. Preferred Experience Previous leadership experience in student affairs in a nursing or health professions education program/college or school.
Two years of experience in academic advising in higher education program/college/or school. Experience with youth and ethnically diverse populations in the area of admissions, recruitment, retention and advisement of students in higher education.
Experience with student database management in higher education. Experience with generating data-drives and compiling reports of student admissions, progression, graduation and outcomes to state, federal, marketing, and accrediting agencies.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven record of experience working with student academic and policy issues.
Excellent student advising skills in higher education.
Demonstrates a high level of computer literacy. Knowledge of, and experience with, best practices in nursing student admissions, recruitment, advising and retention at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills; approachability and accessibility for faculty, student, and community stakeholders.
