Position Description

University Support Services LLC (USS) is the North American correspondent for St. George's University (SGU), a leading center of international medical education, drawing students and faculty from 140 countries to the island of Grenada, in the West Indies. SGU has helped change lives through its more than 20,000 alumni, which include physicians, veterinarians, scientists, and public health and business professionals across the world. The Executive Director, Admissions within the Office of Marketing, Recruitment and Enrollment Operations (MREO) provides vision, leadership and direction to the Admissions Teams and is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic North American enrollment plan through coordinated, data-driven recruitment, admissions and yield strategies. The Executive Director will report to the Vice President, Student Recruitment and provides day-to-day leadership over the Admissions team and direct supervision to the Special Assistant to our Committee on Admissions. The Executive Director, Admissions manages a team to ensure that all prospective students are provided with expert and individualized service through the entire admissions process. In close collaboration with the Vice President, Student Recruitment, the Executive Director works closely with other Directors across the MREO division to develop the plans for implementing strategic recruitment goals, assuring alignment of those goals to the priorities of the division and monitoring enrollment processes for efficiency and improvement.

Duties

Develop, implement and execute a coordinated program of recruitment from initial inquiry to matriculation for all SGU programs and terms. Oversee and manage an in-house team of three Directors of Admission and the Liaison to our Committee on Admissions. Providing leadership and mentorship and providing guidance and feedback to drive towards the strategic objectives of the department. Each Director of Admissions supervises a team of Admission Officers and coordinators who work with students from the United States or Canada. Analyze inquiry and application trends and regularly review admissions activities and processes to identify potential opportunities for advancement; monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting and operational efficiencies. Manage the utilization of a customer relations management system that will identify opportunities throughout the admissions funnel, customize and track applicant data, and generate reports to drive enrollment strategies. Maintain relationships with appropriate constituents, acting as primary liaison to key departments across MREO and the larger SGU community. Support the in-house Admissions team and the Liaison to the Admissions Committee through ongoing learning and development efforts to enhance key job functions including admissions knowledge, talk tracks, communication skills and excellent customer service. Manage enrollment process to mitigate the melt of accepted students and to provide a smooth transition to campus of all deposited students. Serves as the primary escalation point for Admissions Directors when student concerns/issues require additional or a higher level of resolution. Understand the programs, the postgraduate possibilities, and other possible options for each student, and the benefits of SGU’s programs for those who are qualified. Maintain working knowledge of SGU admission policies to be able to answer frequently asked questions and troubleshoot problems. Understand Admission requirements, and equivalency to US from all US and Canada. Advise team on updates or changes around the University’s programs, curriculum, calendars, performance outcomes and financial considerations. Work with the team and the managers to ensure that inquiries and applicant concerns are serviced in a timely and appropriate way throughout the admission cycle to enrollment. Monitor the reviewing of all applications, along with all documents to meet benchmarks for accuracy and within set time parameters. Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; Master’s Degree preferred. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in university admissions and enrollment management with at least five + years of supervisory experience

Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated experience with all aspects of the admissions process, including but not limited to expertise with recruitment and conversion strategies, CRM technologies, data analytics and admissions communications and best in class customer service. Experience implementing creative, equitable, and inclusive recruitment strategies A hands-on leader with a strong data driven approach to admissions and recruitment. Ability to effectively lead a staff encouraging strong collaboration and teamwork. Evidence of strong management skills and organizational skills, and the ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects. Genuine interest in helping students achieve their dream of becoming a physician. Ability to effectively and proactively build relationships with peers, University staff, and administration. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
