Position Description

The Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity in Engineering Student Services Coordinator provides support for the Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity in Engineering (IEDE) Student Center - a recently-formed center bringing together pre-college, college/undergraduate, and graduate programs to support the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students in engineering. The Student Services Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of the IEDE Student Center and works with other staff members in the IEDE Student Center to design and implement student-centered programs and services. The Student Services Coordinator also manages the welcome desk and serves as the main point of contact for the IEDE Student Center.


Develops, evaluates, and implements Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) student success programs and recruitment efforts for the unit to support underrepresented students' success. Develops internal partnerships in support of program awareness and provides student interventions as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:
10% Assists in the development and implementation of student academic success programs

10% Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal partnerships to coordinate institutional diversity efforts and initiatives

10% Facilitates cross-student retention efforts to raise awareness and involvement in diversity and inclusion programming

25% Designs, delivers, and evaluates interventions, programs, and services for underrepresented, marginalized, and targeted minority students

25% Develops and coordinates high impact practices, academic support, and advising initiatives for identified student populations Unique Responsibilities:

5% Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organization information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums

10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, special events, and work unit operations

5% Assist in hiring, training, and supervision of student employees
