Administer and oversee various college-wide initiatives and programs supporting four-year graduation efforts, including certificates and minors, college readiness, and internal transfer admissions for the College of Natural Sciences (CNS). Ensure the priorities of the College and Undergraduate Education are incorporated into all aspects of the position, including student-centeredness, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Coordinate outreach to students regarding four-year progress, with a goal of increasing to a 75 percent success rate. Coordinate with Student Success Initiatives office on Senior Countdown initiative. Provide support to first generation student efforts by compiling and sharing first generation student data with college stakeholders. Facilitate at least one FIG/Cornerstones group. Manage college readiness process and procedure to support preparation of students from a wide variety of high school backgrounds for college-level math and science. Deploy UT Math Assessment for 7,000 students. Coordinate with ALEKS and chemistry department to deploy ALEKS Chemistry for all students enrolled in CH 301. Oversee and implement day-to-day College Readiness operations including websites for math, chemistry, and the Biology Intensive Workshop, student interface, email inquiries, university partnerships, and managing Readiness Mentor Program by supervising approximately ten student mentors. Oversee and implement all aspects of the Health Professions, Forensic Science, and Science and Communications Certificates, including catalog revisions, marketing, and outreach. Provide college-wide leadership and training on Certificate processes and procedures. Provide advising and respond to email inquiries from students across the University pursuing or applying for these certificates. Provide troubleshooting and ongoing training in the Registrar system across CNS and other CSU stakeholders. Support NSC 309 instructor with course needs. Manage internal transfer application process. Provide info sessions and respond to inquiries from students and staff university-wide. Review approximately 700 applicants, take recommendations to departments. Coordinate with Assistant Dean and departments to decide on admissions and send notifications to applicants. Manage UGS Early Admit internal transfer process and notify accepted students with admission offer into CNS. Oversee management of Perry Castaneda Lab STEM Study Center, including eight student tutors. Continue to innovate training by providing manuals and peer to peer onboarding. Marketing and social media program management. Create and manage stakeholder access to annual Orientation survey. Manage increasing web-based Orientation materials. Assist Assistant Dean with projects, and programmatic and student matters. Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience performing similar duties. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
