Position Description
The College of Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking applications for an Associate Director of Engineering Career Services. Engineering Career Services is housed in Marston Hall, and serves more than 8,000 students of all classifications, including undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. This position will lead the Engineering Career Services unit, supervise the career services staff, and direct all college career services functions, both internally and externally and reports to the Office of the Dean.
Duties
Direct and continuously improve Engineering Career Services by managing our corporate partners' employment recruiting activities, including experiential learning and post-graduation employment activities, and managing the reporting of career outcomes and related statistics. Develop policy and procedures for the delivery of career preparation, planning, and services to students and direct strategic planning of college programming to enhance collaborative relationships between students, alumni, and corporate partners. Oversee the delivery of career fairs annually, managing office and career fair budgets and collaborating with other colleges at Iowa State University to provide leadership and support to the university’s efforts in supporting career service functions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience that exhibits the ability to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics. Experience establishing positive working relationships with corporate partners, faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Demonstrated record of effective leadership or potential for effective leadership. Knowledge of career development and research on employment trends. Knowledge of legal aspects of recruitment and hiring. Familiarity or experience in the field of engineering.
