The College of Education (Mizzou Ed) is seeking a Retention Coordinator to assist Mizzou Ed in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Retention Programs. The individual in this position reports to the Director of Recruitment, Diversity and Inclusion and facilitates the retention, outreach, and overall success of all members of our community, especially those from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in education (e.g., Dorsey Leadership Academy). The role includes administrative assistance, data collection and analysis, event coordination, mentorship, collaboration, and educator duties that shift based on student need, projects, and programming occurring during the academic calendar.
- Serving as a program mentor to Dorsey Leadership Academy participants through 1-on-1 meetings, workshops, and events
- Serving as the primary contact for administrative duties related to the Dorsey Leadership Academy (e.g., scheduling, attendance tracking)
- Liaising between Student Success and Residential Life (e.g., setting up meetings, facilitating committees, initiating programming)
- Coordinating and hosting events (e.g., room reservations, collaboration, marketing, set up, clean up, catering) pertaining to Academic, Financial, and Social themes (in-person and virtual)
- Collaborating with staff and faculty across the College of Education, campus, and other institutions on retention and student success initiatives
- Following retention and student success trends, including data analytics, and developing and implementing retention strategies
- Assisting the Recruitment Coordinator and Advising staff with recruitment and enrollment into the Dorsey Leadership Academy
- Maintaining databases and data files on undergraduate retention (e.g., Dorsey, Family Tree, student organizations)
- Teach/Co-Teach an SSC 1150 course Supporting the overall team of the Office of Recruitment, Diversity & Inclusion and other projects as assigned.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- A Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- 4 years of related experience post-Master’s degree.
- Experience with diversity and inclusion efforts and programming.
- Proficiency in public speaking, facilitation, data collection and analysis, and event coordination.
- Familiarity with Outlook, Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom.
- A valid Driver’s license
