Duties
To participate in the planning and delivery of academic advising/counseling services and programs that promote comprehensive educational opportunities for students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Work with faculty, staff, and administrators in providing for academic advising needs of individuals or groups of students.
Responsibilities
Advise current and prospective students on the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering degree requirements.
Maintain clear and precise notes of student visits in Advisor Toolkit and EAB Navigate Assist in the evaluation of degree progression via the Interactive Degree Audit system and submit overrides.
Serve as advisor to the ECE Undergraduate Student Advisory Board.
Manage Junior and Senior student degree audits and manage technical core selection, free electives survey and communication with faculty mentor assignments.
Maintain and oversee Technical Component Selection applications, Free Electives, Academic Enrichment, manage prerequisites for all EE/ECE courses.
Assist with New Student Orientation for the department, including providing advising and presenting department information to incoming students. Facilitate two first-year interest groups, Recruit, train, and manage Graduate Student FIG facilitators and coordinate activities for all ECE FIG meetings.
Oversee and manage ECE research course EE X60 and internship course EE 125. Coordinate Gone to ECE, Ramshorn Scholars open house, ECE town halls.
Participate in You Belong Here events, Family Weekend, ECE Tech Core Night, ECE Honors events, ECE Open House, ECE Fall reception and yield events.
Assist with undergraduate Recruitment events.Supervise ECE Graduate Assistant in advising tasks and special event planning

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field Four years of experience working with college students in an academic counseling capacity OR Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience in counseling, group work, assessment and administration of student academic programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience working with STEM college students in a counseling-advising capacity, group work, assessment and administration of student academic programs.
