Position Description

The Student Life Supervisor performs professional-level supervisory duties in planning, directing, and reviewing the activities and operations College-wide for Student Life Coordinators and Student Life Centers. The Student Life Supervisor is also assigned to a dedicated focus areas such as: Co-Curricular Engagement and Assessment. This position will have shared oversight for employee training and implementing student affairs related college initiatives. A flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends is required for this position.


Supervision of student life employees, to include: prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, training staff, and recommending the hiring, disciplinary actions and termination of staff
Research and resolve difficult and complex student complaints and issues related to student clubs, organizations, and student to student complaints for the Student Life Supervisor role
Provide direct service to students, as required, to implement Student Affairs and Student Life and Student Engagement related student programming; work with other co-curricular team members such as FYE Program Developer, and Advising Program Developer for Student Athletes to partner and strengthen student engagement and other departments (counseling, advising, instruction, DEI, etc) to develop co-curricular programming
Assist in developing, planning, and implementing goals and objectives Student Life and CoCurricular Engagement; recommend and administer policies and procedures for service delivery; provide complex support to the Dean, Director, or designee
Evaluate operations and processes for Student Life; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare related reports; Innovate new service and engagement technology tools for students and employee use
Supervise the processing of technical paperwork in Student Life; ensure compliance with applicable Federal and state laws and College rules and regulations
Monitor program and operations for Student Life to ensure consistency with campus student services goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures
Collect and analyze a variety of information and statistics relating to Student Life and summarizing findings, prepare reports, and make recommendations
Develop and conduct training seminars or workshops on functional or organizational topics
Assist in developing and monitoring operational budget and allocation of expenditures in Student Life; prepare cost estimates and justifications for budget item recommendations
Ensure consistency of operations with College policies and practices Collaborate with other Student Affairs Supervisors and the district office to provide and improve services to students
Set area goals and objectives, and measure quality of services
Prepare for and participate in/on a variety of College and community committees, workshops, meetings, training sessions, task forces, and conferences
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level The Student Life Supervisor will:
Establish ongoing monitoring of metrics and provide reports related to co-curricular engagement and assessment
Use eLumen and other software programs to track Student Affairs Co-Curricular Student Learning Outcomes
Lead the College-wide Student Life Coordinator Team, physically working on campus full time and traveling weekly to various campus locations.
Develop departmental goals and measuring student outcomes related to student engagement programming and correlations to student success metrics
Manage and develop the co-curricular programming calendar, assist with oversight of college-wide student life and student activities budgets; ensure oversight of the Student Life-Student Travel sponsorship program

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and Three years of progressively responsible experience in student services and One year of lead or supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred
Knowledge of Campus Labs or similar student engagement software
Knowledge of co-curricular assessment tools and techniques
Successful experience with both virtual and in person student engagement best practices
