Solar Energy International (SEI) is hiring a full-time Student Services Counselor to join our Student Services Team. This position is the first point of contact for students, either via phone, Skype, or email. This position includes registering students for our training, advising students about SEI courses and programs, providing career counseling and information about industry certification, online user administration, and maintaining student records within our database. Ideal candidate for this position will have excellent customer service and advising skills to serve our students. The position will be full-time, 40 hours/week, based remotely. General Student Services Tasks/Activities:
Speak to students and disseminate accurate and timely information regarding the variety of programs offered by SEI. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of SEI’s courses and Solar Professional Certificate Program, industry certifications, and career pathways within the industry.
In addition to personal email accounts, manage incoming emails in general SEI, SEIOnline and Purchases email accounts. Respond to email messages according to established communication protocols.
Answer the phone (personal line and shared queue line) in a timely and professional manner, returning messages. In addition to personal voicemail messages, check general voicemails and return messages.
Process registrations and book orders in database using accurate data entry, information collection, and fee collection. Maintain records in the database, utilize actions, track outstanding balances, enter purchase orders and invoices for merchandise sales.
Process Solar Professional Certificate Program applications and follow-up on enrollment with applicants/students as appropriate. This task is shared with the rest of the Student Services team.
Assist workforce students and counselors to secure funding for training. Complete required paperwork for approval and invoicing, and track student’s progress as necessary. Follow-up as necessary with regard to documentation after training is complete. Work with the financial team regarding vendor setup and collections work as needed.
Assist scholarship students.
Provide back-up support to the Data Processing Technician as needed with purchases emails, processing online registrations and orders, student Moodle enrollments, entering and tracking shipments,
Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Lead SCO for Veterans programs. Provide career counseling and assistance to veterans, follow up invoicing and reporting.
Develop relationships with employers and actively connect students seeking jobs with these employers.
Work with partners and employers enrolling large groups of students.
Enter all trade deals and sponsorships, accurately track credits due, follow up and process registrations.
Assist students with resumes and cover letters ? Miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Minimum of 2 years experience working with students in an advising or career counseling capacity or comparable customer service.

Team player with who can be flexible in a variety of situations and work remotely with colleagues
Experience with MS Office, Learning management systems (LMS), database entry and management
Strong communication skills, including written, phone and verbal skills; ability to work with all types of people
Ability to handle multiple forms of inquiries; including managing daily phone calls, emails, and others tasks, often under minimal supervision
