Position Description

Provide high quality academic, career, and success coaching to students; comprehensively monitor students’ academic success and key moments of transition (enrollment process, first weeks of college, mid-terms, major declaration, and beyond the degree); assist students who encounter barriers to success; provide guidance, consultation and expertise related to career readiness and related technologies; assist students in designing plans for a cohesive collegiate experience and their summers and first destinations, and develop and deliver content to ensure a campus-wide culture of student success and career readiness. Coordinate and/or collaborate with other coaches on one or more programmatic areas (e.g. cohort programming support, peer mentoring, mentoring by alumni and staff, early engagement career exploration programs) and serve as the point of contact for an assigned group of academic departments.


Provide academic success and career coaching to students through design-thinking, career readiness education, development of goals and strategies, and awareness of university resources, policies, and processes
Advise and support students on academic-related matters: degree planning, selection of major(s) and minor(s), curricula and core requirements, course scheduling and sequencing, and arranging appropriate academic timelines leading to personal, academic, and career goals and success
Communicate with an assigned cohort of incoming students to assist in their entry and transition to the college and throughout each semester Lead and/or collaborate on one or more programmatic areas (e.g. cohort programming support, peer mentoring, mentoring by alumni and staff, early engagement career exploration programs)
Assist students in identifying post-baccalaureate fellowship opportunities and graduate school resources, preparing for admission tests, and editing their personal statements
Participate in ongoing professional development regarding student development, advising, career readiness, and other professional topics

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field (including student affairs, higher education, counseling, or a related discipline). Minimum of 2 years experience working with undergraduate students, either in a teaching, coaching, counseling, or related capacity with exposure to employment and graduate/professional school issues.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to relate to and motivate a diverse range of undergraduate students
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail Ability to work within a diverse set of technology platforms including student success CRM and career readiness technologies
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks/activities with demanding timelines and transition quickly between them.
Proficient in MS Office Programs and Google Suite, as well as remote work tools such as Zoom.
