Position Description

To provide technical skills in the execution of established training programs to meet organizational development goals for UTSA Academic Advising.
Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing assigned training programs that enhance individual learning and meet the needs of various departmental productivity improvement endeavors.


- Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned faculty and staff training and development programs which meet departmental needs and increase trainee participation and learning.
- Maintain appropriate records of training activities and programs.
- Assist in monitoring effectiveness of assigned training programs through appropriate measurement instruments. Recommend appropriate modifications as necessary
- Coordinate and prepare instructional materials for various training and development programs.
- Plan, coordinate and execute various learning and planning practices.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the training field and recommend effective training ideas for implementation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

1) Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
2) Three years of professional experience designing and executing training programs.
3) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4) Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
5) Proficiency in personal computers and related office equipment. 6) High level of accuracy in work.

Preferred Qualifications

1) Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
2) Direct academic advising experience in a higher education environment.
3) Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4) Excellent presentation skills.
5) Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects.
6) Experience conducting virtual training sessions.
7) Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning principles.
8) Experience as a proactive self-starter.
9) Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and structure.
10) Experience assessing and evaluating training programs.
11) Experience with video conferencing software.
